Shanghai….possibly one of the best cities to get started with Asia

Well my trip didn’t start super easy by KLM delaying the flight by 3 hours caused by a problem with the engine. However after a couple of attempts they managed to fix the engine and did 2 test runs (first one was unsuccessful) so we could finally take off.

Shanghai didn’t spoil me with its beauty upon arrival but presented itself in a rainy grey which vanished after a few hours. So no stress to do some unpacking and get myself sorted out in the hotel. Despite the lack of sleep i decided to at least go and discover The Bund which is an absolute magent for both tourists and locals. People strolling up and down the broad boulevard along the river Huangpu enjoying the stunning view of Pudong with its illuminated skyscrapers. The view which gets close to surreal – like Atlantis – as the sun sets and the lights shows of each building start to dominate the atmosphere in the darkness of the night.
