Dragon’s Backbone or the rice terraces of Longji

The Longji (Long = Dragon, ji = backbone) ……  chinese for beginners ha ha    Anyway, the beautifully engineered terraces are situated in small mountain villages on an altitude of approx 1000m.They are farmed by minority people such as Zhuang, Dong and Miao. Ah to point out that the Dong women only cut their hair once in their life at the age of 18.. afterwards they are nestling all their hair plus the one cut when 18 around their head and shape it depending on being married, having children etc.  wonder how many kilos that weighs until they are old…

The view was simply stunning as we hiked through these terraces – Guangxi at it’s best!
